The Lord tells us to follow the prophet
Yes, we must learn to be guided by the Spirit. This is absolutely essential, and will become critical as our world spirals into greater wickedness. This post is for those who believe following the living prophet is not important, or of lesser importance. Here are the Lord's words regarding his oracles (his prophets): "And all they who receive the oracles of God, let them beware how they hold them lest they are accounted as a light thing, and are brought under condemnation thereby, and stumble and fall when the storms descend, and the winds blow, and the rains descend, and beat upon their house." (D&C 90:5). To me, this is clearly speaking to those who claim to accept (receive) a prophet, but don't support the prophet by not following the prophet's counsels.
