Is the West Coast Due for Some Increased Seismic Activity?

While there are a number of websites I will frequent, and others not so frequently, one that I visit almost daily is http://www.suspicious0bservers.org

Ben Davidson puts out a daily news report that is primarily about space weather, but it often talks about how the sun affects the earth's extreme weather and major seismic events.

When conditions are conducive to large quakes in certain regions he will identify those areas most likely to experience large seismic activity. The last big quake in Italy, the one in New Zealand last week, and quakes in Japan, Chile, and Argentina have all been on alert before the quake struck. Not every alert area gets a big quake (6.0 or bigger), and he's about 60% accurate. Here's his last year of quake predictions:

In today's news he stated something interesting in today's news https://youtu.be/higOOoDVlMQ starting about 2 minutes 5 seconds:

"As a convergence line begins to drench so cal and the desert over the next few days, it will be key to monitor the west coast of the US for any blot-echo activity. Not many earth spots make their way there."

Ben refers to large, low pressure areas that are hurricanes, typhoons, or big storm systems as earth spots. Combined with other factors like coronal holes, and planetary alignments (including the moon) and there is an apparent correlation to large earthquakes.

There is not a current alert map for potential earthquakes. Conditions are not quite conducive to big quakes, but things will line up within the next couple days for new quake watches. From weather.gov is looks like the next big storm system will hit the west coast late Saturday into Sunday morning. That same system is what is predicted to bring Utah's next rain and snow on Monday. It will be interesting to see what happens.

I'm not saying Utah is going to get an earthquake, although there is a possibility

Personally, I'm not convinced the time is quite right, but it is close, very close. I need to find a quote from Brigham Young which relates to why I think this. I think as long as the majority of "active" members of the Church are faithful and keeping their covenants and obeying the commandments, we are being spared. But I don't think there is much to drop before it's no longer a majority. 

In my opinion, one of the things I think will be a sign that the Wasatch Front is becoming ripe in iniquity is when marijuana is legalized. I'm referring to legalizing medical marijuana. From there it's just a step away to recreational and social use, although it would likely become decriminalized on the federal level before Utah gets to allowing for recreational use.

This is not to say Utahns would be immediately accepting of marijuana use if medical marijuana becomes legal in Utah. It's more to say that they are becoming more tolerant of what was once considered an evil.

When the first big quake strikes Utah it will be because the majority of those who call themselves saints are no longer keeping their covenants, no longer obeying all the commandments (including keeping the Sabbath day holy), and have become more concerned with things of the world than with pleasing God. It will be a warning, a big warning, that the people are becoming ripened in iniquity and destruction is coming if they do not repent and return to God.

I think the warning will help, for a short time. Enough of the saints will repent and return to God, but it will be only for a short time. Maybe as short as a year, maybe as long as six or seven. Just like in the Book of Mormon, the repentance will not last and the majority will turn away from God. They will honor him with their mouths, but their actions will show they worship the world.

I think there will likely be a brief period of increased prosperity after the warning quake, when a majority of the saints have humbled themselves and repented. But persecutions will be increased, pressure to conform and fit in with the rest of the nation and the world will intensify. And soon, most of those who had repented will fall back into their worldly ways, and many others will follow. When those who embrace wickedness, tolerate, support, and promote it, are ripe for destruction then the righteous and faithful who remain--those who have not already been guided out beforehand--will be invited to leave and gather together.

From that time it will be a matter of months before destruction comes. Most likely it will not happen immediately, nor will it occur within a few weeks. Three to six months is my time estimate before the monster earthquake strikes. But other events, such as devastating plagues, will likely come through before that time.
