I knew this was coming...infringement on the Second Amendment

Fact check: Democrat's bill would increase taxes on firearms and ammunition. It will also broaden an "assault weapons" ban and require a federal or state firearm owner license to "purchase, acquire, or possess a firearm or ammunition." https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2020/05/24/fact-check-bill-would-increase-taxes-firearms-and-ammunition/5231813002/ Two Democrat bills, H.R. 5717 and the companion bill S. 3254 will increase taxes on firearms to 30% and ammunition will be taxed at 50%. They will also reinstate restrictions on the class of firearms banned from 1994 to 2004, which are generally known as "assault weapons." H.R. 5717 is called "Gun Violence Prevention and Community Safety Act of 2020" Sounds politically correct, maybe even warm and fuzzy because it's supposed aimed at preventing gun violence and increasing safety. Who doesn't want that? So, anyone opposed to the bill will be labeled as being against the promot...

Signs before calamities

Image
I've posted some information regarding what Hector Sosa and others believe will be a sign before the first Big One (earthquake). In 2014 Sosa's book was published in which he said there will be a 2-day sign prior to the first Big One. At the time he didn't know what that sign would be.  In about January 2018 he learned the sign would be an "extinct volcanic cone burping ash" Here are Sosa's words from his "Thoughts" on this website http://achangeiscomingbook.com/Thoughts/ID/198/57-Earthquake-in-Magna-and-several-aftershocks "As for the warning, I was shown an extinct volcanic cone burping ash. Nothing really big, just surprising. That's what I was told would be the warning. After that, we have 48 hours to prepare for the first big quake here in Utah." " I didn't know what the actual sign was until recently, but long after the book was published. According to my journal, I learned what the two-day sign actually is around the las...

Is a generation of time equal to 1 God hour?

I have been slowing working my way through the many references to the Savior that are listed in the Topical Guide. It's what President Nelson suggested we do, I think it was the year before he became the prophet. Anyway, today I was going through some of the references to the Davidic Descent of the Lord. That branched me off to looking up when Abraham lived because in the first chapter of Matthew it lists the Lord's genealogy, with the emphasis from king David to the Savior. In Matt. 1:17 it identifies that it's 14 generations from Abraham to David, then 14 more generations to the Babylonian captivity, and another 14 from the captivity to the birth of Christ. All together that's 42 generations from Abraham to Christ. It's interesting that 42 is multiple of 7. So my studies led me to learn that Abraham was born about 2,000 BC. 2,000 years / 42 generations is about 47.6 years for each generation. That number sparked the memory of another similar number. God's time...

Which is better? If it will save one life, or it's for the greater good.

I wrote the following over a month ago, but just decided to post it. --- Which is better: “If it saves just one life” or “It’s for the greater good”? Both statements are used by politicians at all levels to promote or advance some restriction, regulation, or piece of legislation. The talking points are usually those which just about everyone agrees on. The focus or emphasis is on the good that can be accomplished. There is a problem, though, when someone objects. That person is instantly labeled by the supporters as being against whatever “good” is being promoted. Most of the time objectors are not against the good than can come, but they are against the details behind the “good” parts, the “talking points” pushed by politicians and the media. Often the everyday supporters don’t know the specifics and they trust the politicians to be doing what is good for everyone. Take, for example, social distancing and stay-at-home orders that extend for unreasonable or unspeci...

Why is the economy closed?

Please explain to me why most of the country is still in economic lockdown when Dr. Fauci himself said, just a few days (May 12) ago during his testimony at the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee hearing: “This virus [COVID-19] induces an immune response, and the overwhelming majority of people recover. The very fact that the body is capable of spontaneously clearing the virus tells me that, at least from a conceptual standpoint, we can stimulate the body with a vaccine that will induce a similar response.” https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/key-moments-from-the-senates-coronavirus-hearing-with-top-health-officials https://www.medpagetoday.com/infectiousdisease/covid19/86466 His response was to Senator Romney’s question regarding the possibility of a vaccine being developed in the next year or two. I’ll get to Fauci’s statement in just a bit. By the way, I have no desire to get a newly developed vaccine for a newly discovered virus when the fl...
