A vaccine won't return things to "normal"

So...you can get covid-19 but you still have to act and be treated like you're a leper. Doesn't matter if your symptoms are minor. You are shunned and have to be isolated, as well as anyone who may have been exposed to you.

But... If you get the vaccine you're treated like a hero. And there's the mistaken belief things will go back to normal after some "herd immunity".

And for those who actually got covid-19 they will still need to get vaccinated because actually getting the illness is somehow inferior to the vaccine. Even though if you get the illness you're probably 100% likely to have antibodies, while getting the vaccine might be (if you believe the marketing) 95% effective at preventing a COVID-19 infection.

Do you really believe the push to wear masks and social distancing will go away after 80%+ of the population are immunized? Not a chance. While mandated mask wearing may be eased, there will be a push for masks for a long time. Did many of the Chinese wear masks before COVID? Well, that's where the new normal is heading, especially during winter months.

Most politicians may not be pushing mask wearing for some nefarious control agenda, but you're naïve if you think all politicians are not wanting power, control, and increased influence over others. Most politicians are where they're at because they want power and control, that's why so many are career politicians and have lost touch with the common citizen. So, if they see something that might help them consolidate control, influence, and power they will use it. If pushing fear of some illness and imposing mandates fits the bill, they will use it for their political gain.

For those wanting things to return to normal, let me burst that bubble because things will never go back to the way they were.

Here's the reality. Normal is never as normal as most people want to think it is or was. Things are always changing. Sometimes the change is huge and drastic. Sometimes it's slow.

For most of the population the last almost 20 years have had some form of normalcy...that is after the events of 9-11.

Before that there was a very different normal. In 2008-9 the Great Recession changed normal for a lot of people.

Back in the 1990's the explosion of personal computers and advent of the internet was the birth of massive changes.

Want another reality, life will probably be changing a lot more quickly and for a lot more people.
